John Eagle Photography | About
I'm John Eagle, an artist and photographer living full time in the South West of Ireland.
I was the only person to make a postcard of all the major lighthouses on the Irish coastline. I also made postcards of many of the small lighthouses. In 1999 my first book 'An Eagle's View of Irish Lighthouses' was published by Peter Williams and even though out of print it is still selling well to this day (until the few remaining stocks dry up). In 2010 The Collins Press of Cork published my second book on lighthouses 'Ireland's Lighthouses A Photo Essay by John Eagle' which was reprinted in 2013 after the initial print run sold out.
I am also an artist, using oils on canvas. I have shown my work both in America and Ireland. My profile picture was taken at my exhibition of oil paintings at the Allihies Mines Museum by fellow photographer Niall Duffy. He also took the picture of me which appears in my first book 'An Eagle's View of Irish Lighthouses'
My work as a photographer and an artist is inspired by the wild beauty in which I live, the Beara Peninsula.
